• Everyone calls him Shel but, his real name is Sheldon
• He went to Roosevelt University & University of Illinois
• He has won over 20 awards for his books

• He had no friends to play with so he sat down and started writing.

The only reason I picked Shel Silverstein is because,he loves to write poetry and my favorite thing in reading is poetry.

Shel Silverstein loved to read. I like to read but, not as much as he did. He inspires me to read and write some poetry and some other books.
