SHARING MENTAL ILLNESSES

Published on Jan 24, 2020

I created this haiku deck for my social media class at Wood river Middle School. The assignment required us to find an article about social media from newsela and create an online presentation using Haiku deck. The article I chose to present was, "Teens are using TikTok to talk about mental health". This was a very interesting article. I hope you find it interesting while you view my Haiku Deck.

Teens Use TikTok To Talk About Mental Health

In the article, "Teens use tiktok to talk about their mental health", Philadelphia inquirer, adapted by de newsela staff focuses on David Geipel on how he got into an accident and started posting tiktoks to remind people they are loved and cared for.

Opening Up To People of the same Age

In the article it talks about teenagers talking to people of their own age. However when teenagers do this they put themselves in danger. Because whoever they talk to can be someone very much older than them or it could be some kind of human trafficker or something.

"Humor Is Crucial"

In this article, it most definitely talks about how teenagers are putting their issues on the internet on this so called app "tik tok". "tik tok" is a platform where people from every age can enjoy using by making videos of themselves or watch videos of other video. In this app many people will do things to take people laugh. Although, sometimes they don't go as planned. For example, there's a trend going around where you have to throw stuff in the air and see who it hits.

In conclusion

In conclusion, the article Teens are using TikTok to talk about mental health" there are many things that can go wrong but I think this app helps people because first they talk about issues and many people have the same and so I think if they do they probably talk about their problems yet I also think that teenagers may also be exposing way to much information about themselves.
