WHAT DID THE TLINGIT USE TO MAKE CLOTHES?

  • They used wood because they didn't herd or farm animals.
  • They also used the wood to make blankets.

  • They built large houses to live in.
  • They built the houses out of spruce and cedar wooden planks.

LOCATION OF THE TLINGIT.

  • They live in a coastal area that stretches from Alaska to Northern California .
  • This land is bordered by mountains in the east and the ocean in the west.
  • The coastline has lots of islands and bays but most of the land is covered by forests.
  • 7 groups of American Indian tribes live in this region

FOOD.

  • Salmon,seal,whale,and shellfish.
  • Geese,deer,elks,and bears.
  • They gathered fern roots and Barrie's.

SPECIAL CULTURAL EVENTS.

  • Singing.
  • Dancing.
  • Having big feasts with their clan.
  • Telling stories.
