SIMPLE SENTENCES

  • A simple sentence contains an independent clause.
  • An independent clause is made up of a subject and a verb.
  • Example: I ran today.

Compound sentence
A compound sentence occurs when two or more simple sentences are joined by: A comma,
A FANBOY, or a semicolon, but only when being used as items in a series.

Complex Sentence
A complex sentence has a dependent and independent clause
Example: The students are studying because they have a test tomorrow.🐙

Compound-complex sentence
Theses sentences consist of a compound and a complex sentence.
Example: Although I enjoy shopping, I haven't been to the mall in two weeks, and I'm broke!
