  • cash crops: peanuts, sugarcane, cotton, green beans,

  • Fish important mostly due to it bordering the Atlantic Ocean
  • No pork used in cooking because of muslim beliefs
  • Buy , a fruit also know as "monkey tree bread" used to make juices
  • Cuisine strongly influenced by their french background
