Some people will burn themselves with cigarettes just to feel the pain

THESIS
Self-harm leads to lives being taken away, serious depression, and many disorders, but certain people find it fine to do.

  • Foot binding
  • Neck rings
  • FGM
  • Hair-pulling

FOOT BINDING

  • Form of self-mutilation
  • Break the bones
  • Put them under the sole of the foot
  • On purpose
  • Small feet = beauty

NECK RINGS

  • Form of self-harm
  • Put rings around their necks
  • Make their necks longer
  • Considered beauty
  • On purpose

FGM(FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION)

  • Form of self-mutilation
  • Has a lot of myths
  • Someone stitches a woman's vagina shut

HAIR-PULLING

  • Type of self-harm
  • Pyschological disorder
  • "Trichotillomania"

OPPOSING ARGUMENT

MY THESIS
Self-harm leads to lives being taken away, serious depression, and many disorders, but certain people find it fine to do.

OPPOSING THESIS
Self-harm is fine to do and helps people in many ways.

EXAMPLE

  • Makes you feel like you have control over your body
  • WHY WRONG?
  • may have control, but more dangerous
  • Could kill yourself

ARGUMENT

  • Someone may feel worse about themselves
  • Physically, mentally, emotionally
  • Leads to lives being taken away
