Family History

Seabiscuit's family was known for racing

The legend in his family was his grandfather-Man O' War

Man O' War was a magnificent thorough bred and was a triple crown winner

But Seabiscuit eventually came more well-known than his grandfather …

Seabiscuit's Career
He won tons of races

He made over $430,000

He had a bad start to his career

Some Races he was in:
Santa Anita Handicap…

Difference from other Champion Horses
He looked very different than other champion horses

He had a limping in his walk, a wheezing when he breathed, and was barely 15 hands

He was the opposite of most winners, that's what made people love and root for him, his "imperfection"

Seabiscuit's injuries

After the race Santa Anita he injured his left foreleg

It was so bad that no one thought he would race again

But when all hopes were down Seabiscuit pulled through, healed, and raced again

Seabiscuit's Friend

When he was young he wasn't treated right

So he was full of rage and "meaness" so they found a companion for him named Pumpkin

Seabiscuit and Pumpkin became friend's

They took Pumpkin to every one of Seabiscuit's races
