SEA LION

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

• They have small external earflaps and hind flippers that can be turned to face forwards
• Their front flippers give them extra mobility to move on land and swim in water.
• Larger than fur seals.

HABITAT

• Inhabit the rocky and sand breaches on the coasts.
• Sea Lions have a wide distribution out there in the world.
• The majority of them live in the sub Arctic areas where it extremely cold.
• Others prefer to live in the warmer waters of the tropics
• It lives in the ocean biome

WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?

• Sea lions help keep the fish populations down along the coasts.
• Australian sea lions poo has special nutrients in it.
• The nutrients help the waters and the fish around them.
• The consumer in the food chain/web that eats the Austalian sea lion would be forced to find other food.
• . If that t consumer can't find other food then it would extinct as well an so on.
