  • A body of technique for investigating phenominon acquiring new knowledge or correcting previous knowledge
  • Francis Bacon was known for natural philosophy & scientific metholody.
  • Francis created "empiricism" and inspired the revolution
  • 1. Problem 2. Prediction 3. Experiment 4. Conclusion
  • Ren'e Descartes was known for his experiment of presenting a geometrical point using a pair of orderd numbers.

GEOCENTRIC VS. HELIOCENTRIC

  • Geocentric- Solar system, with earth being the center.
  • Heliocentric- Solar system with the sun being the center.

  • Isaac newton- he was able to explain how and why planets moved the way they did.
  • Newton's laws were able to explain why people stay on earth cerface.

  • Anton van Leeuwenhoek- known as first microbiologist and discovered bacteria and protists.
  • Using the simple microscopes, he created the first discriptions of bacteria and protists.
  • Before him most people didnt believe in smaller organisms.

MEDICINE

  • Andreas vesalius- He is known for some of the influencial books on the human anatomy.
  • He wrote and illustrated the very first textbook of anatomy.

CHEMISTRY

  • Robert Boyle- He is best known for his Boyle's Laws ;
  • Describing inverse proportional relationship the absolute pressure and volume of a gas.
