  • Skin is the only organ in the integumentary system.

EXPLANATION OF FUNCTIONS.

  • The skin forms a barrier that keeps harmful substances outside the body. The skin helps the body maintain a steady temperature. And the perspiration that comes out of your skin takes out wastes.

WHAT SYSTEM DOES IT WORK WITH?

  • The integumentary system works with the nervous system.
  • The nervous system depends on the neurons in your skin to sense the outside world.

  • The integumentary system also works close with your circulatory system.
  • Because certain substances can enter in to your skin your circulatory system can help send the medications you take to fight the substances that are in your body.
  • And last immune system.
  • The immune system can send tiny oils to help the barrier of skin.

  • Cold sore;
  • A cold sore is a small,painful, blister-like sore on or around a persons lips.
  • Eczema,
  • Eczema is red, flaky skin it can happen mostly anywhere on your body. Sometimes it can happen by itself.

  • The integumentary system includes: hair, nails, and glands.
  • Your skin has two mail layers, the epidermis and the dermis.
  • Your skin is the largest organ in you body!
  • the number of hair on your head has been fingered to be approximately 120,000!
  • When wet, a healthy hair can stretch nearly thirty percent of its original length.
