QUESTION

CAN PEPPERMINT IMPROVE REACTION TIMES

I chose this topic because I thought it was a very interesting project, and I wanted to see if candy can benefit you.

Peppermint has been tested to energize your brain and to help alertness. It has been proven to help multitasking and bringing oxygen to your brain. Although it has its downfalls with being know to cause tooth decay with its high sugar level. Also if you have too many at a time it doesn't give you benefits and according to many reports it starts to hurt your brain.

HYPOTHESIS

IF YOU TAKE PEPPERMINT,THEN YOUR REACTION TIME WILL INCREASE.

VARIBLES

  • Independent variable- amount of peppermint
  • Dependent variable- reaction time
  • Constants- peppermint
  • Control group- before peppermint
  • Experimental group- after peppermint

EXPERIMENT

  • Test your group without peppermint
  • Give them the peppermint for 15 min.
  • Then test them 3 times
  • Record results

TEST #1

TEST #2

TEST #3

My hypothesis ended up being correct with the results showing most everyone's time increased in the test.Although take in mind that this is a small experiment I did, there could sources of error in the testing. These seems like a small experiment, but I could have messed somewhere. If I had to do it again I don't think I would make any mistakes since it's so simple. I would also test this on a larger scale like evolving the test in sports.

I chose this topic for many reasons, but the main reason is because this project is actually useful. This is also a simple experiment only having to test before and after results with the peppermint. My results proved my hypothesis right but it could be different for everyone. I would improve this experiment by doing a little more research.

To sum this up
