Ben Franklin is famous for inventing the lightning rod.
He is also famous for inventing bifocal glasses. He's also famous
for inventing the propane-glass fireplace.
The Lightning Rod contributes to our lives by protecting our homes during a storm. Lightning Rods conduct electrical charges, preventing lightning strokes that could damage or set a building on fire.
Ben Franklin married Deborah Read Franklin at age 17. She was only 15 years old!(People got married very young back then.) Franklin was also the oldest signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was elected 4 times in office for Boston's president.
