PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Sound waves come in ripples, like the ones you see on ponds. If you ever smacked slime or slammed it down, it jiggles, just like sound waves!

How sound is made
Sound is made by vibrating particles . When they vibrate they cause the waves to move places. (Through the air)
Sound in Space
You know Star Wars right? During the fights in space, you should not be able to hear anything! It’s fake. You should not hear the sounds because there is zero gravity which makes no vibration.
If you’ve ever put on loud music and you feel the vibration? That happens because the noise level of the music is really loud so the vibration level is also very high so that it moves things. You can try it at home by turning on a speaker on a table then making the music really loud. (Only do it for a short period of time or else your ears will be damaged)
You may have thought how do we speak? Vibration! Our vocal cords vibrate projecting sound out of our mouths.
You hear sound by sound waves bouncing and going into your ears and bouncing on your eardrums. That creates what you hear. Bigger sound waves mean louder sound.
DIY
For this do it yourself project you are going to need, a rubber band, and an open container small enough for the rubber band to fit around it. So take the rubber band and put it around the container so that the band is hanging off the top. Now pluck the string see what happens!
