The Poll I took showed that 90% of the people I asked wanted a 4 period day over our customary 7 period day.

PROBLEM

STUDENTS WASTE PRECIOUS TIME IN USELESS CLASSES.

Students should not have to be forced to take classes that will never benefit the learner. Classes should be selected to students strengths and areas they would excel in.

Option #1
The student takes a test before selecting classes, seeing which areas they would be good at, and plausible careers for the student depending on what grade they are in. (Would be tested after 5th Grade).

Option # 2
A poll of which classes are deemed useless.. The poll would be taken by students, and parents.

Option # 3
We expand The Academies. Academies like S.T.E.M are having students learn things they are interested in, so we expand these academies or make new ones for more students.

PROS

  • Students are more involved in school.
  • Grades will likely increase.
  • No more "Filler" classes.
  • Enjoyable classes.
  • Less dropouts

CONS

  • Funding. Expanding or making new branches will cost alot of money
  • (Option 2) The people vote off "good" classes
  • (Option 1) Student testimg will take much time to complete*
  • *unless done online

THE FINAL SOLUTION IS...

Option #1 is the final solution, because it plays to the strengths so the learner, and does not require the creation of a new branch, or the dropping of classes, but rather: a way to improve on what your strengths are.

The Test would be online, and provide feedback immediately after the test, showing you which classes you should consider. The test would take 1 whole day.

The reason that we should consider changing things
is that: if I wanted to pursue a technology career, and am very 'tech-savvy' than I should be put into a technology class for my benefit.
