Davisibility BY 4

  • How to divide by 4?
  • Multiply the tens digit by 2
  • Add this product to the ones digit.
  • If the sum is divisible by 4, then so is the number

EXAMPLE OF DIVIDING BY 4

  • 46 / 4
  • 4 X 2 = 8
  • 8 + 6 = 14
  • 14 / 4 = 3.5
  • The number is not divisible because it ends in a point number.

Davisibility BY 8

  • Multiply the hundreds digit by 4
  • Multiply the tens digit by 2
  • Add these products to the ones digit
  • If the sum is divisible by 8, then so is the number

EXAMPLE OF Davisibility BY 8

  • 362 / 8
  • 3 X 4 =12
  • 6 X 2 = 12
  • 12 + 12 + 2 = 26
  • 26 / 8 = 3.25
  • It is not divisible because it end in a point number.
