CHILLINGWORTH

• Dies when he has no more hate to feed upon
• He had nothing against the baby
• Leaves his fortune with her, gives her a name

PEARL

• Where does she go?
• What becomes of her?

HESTER

• Hester lives on to help others
• She becomes a beacon of counsel in this society
