PRESENTATION OUTLINE

INSTA VS. SC

PRESENTATION REQUESTED BY THE BRAIN HAYNES

Now, Snapchat and Instagram are two different apps but with two different purposes. I believe that I should keep both and here is why...

SNAPCHAT

PROS OF SNAPCHAT

  • When messages or pictures are sent they appear on the other persons phone in seconds.
  • Really cool filters that update every day!
  • When using snapchat, pictures will disappear which saves storage on your iPhone. (saves room for instagram 😉 )
  • You can see what other people are doing because they may put a picture on their stories about their vacation. For example when Maddie went to Maui I got to see all the cool things that she saw too!

CONS OF SNAPCHAT

  • Random people can add you.
  • Snaps disappear. You may not like this because you cannot see what I send.
  • When you go on snapchat to use that favorite filter that you love and its gone...it can be disappointing but you think, "Well at least they published a new filter!"

INSTAGRAM

PROS OF INSTAGRAM

  • Most of my friends are on this app so that means I can see most of their pictures that they post!
  • People say Instagram is safer than both Twitter and Facebook (which Mom has both).
  • Privacy settings for your account.
  • When I get the account (which by now I think I will) you can go through and remove anything that is inappropriate so then I don't have to see it.

CONS OF INSTAGRAM

  • If my account is public (which it will NOT be) anyone can have access to see my pictures and bio.
  • Instagrams messaging is hard because the sender will not be notified that you have sent something so it could take a couple days for the person to read it.
  • This app was made for people who want to start businesses so there are people trying to sell products on the app.

SECURITY

SECURITY FOR SNAPCHAT

  • When someone logs into my account I am notified and I am kicked out of the app until I put in my password. Once I get back into my account the other person on it will be kicked off. By the time they try to get back on, the password will be changed.
  • If someone unknown adds you on SC you can block them using the reason "I don't know them" and now you don't have to worry!

SECURITY FOR INSTAGRAM

  • Instagram scans websites to make sure your password has not been stolen. If it believes it has, then the app will notify you to change your password.
  • You can turn on two-factor authentication for additional security.
  • You can easily make your account private so you can accept only friends to see your photos that you post. Same with direct messaging.
  • Easy to log in so mom can see what I am posting.
