• I believe Rodderick and Madeline are the same person.Madeline is in fact just a
• Ghost.
• house is attached to the Usher family in some way emotionally or even mentally
• The houses effect on the Usher family has made them mentally ill
• Rodderick's "sister" Madeline is just another part of Rodderick's personality

HALF HUMAN

• Rodderick doesn't have a twin Madeline
• The house has made Rodderick so mental he has "visions" of a sibling
• The "visions" are just his imaginztion.
• The narrator of the book even sees Madeline.
• Once he walked into the house, it was like a poison.

EXPLANATION

• The house is like a gas chamber
• Once you enter it, it starts to kill you
• The narrator saw madeline because the house gave off hallucinations
• The house gave off false representation of what was actually there
• The house was what made Rodderick mentally ill And what basically killed him.

REASONING FOR THE TOMB?

• Rodderick believed if he buried Madeline, maybe he would start to get better
• Madeline might have been his "sickness" or the houses spirit in a bodily form
