Sally Ride was born on May 26,1951 in Encino,California.

Sally attended Stanford University and studied Physics and English.

  • NASA's Space Flight Medal (twice)

Sally Ride passed away on July 23,2012 at the age of 61 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Sally Ride is famous for being the first American woman in space. She was on the second and third Challenger flights. She was scheduled to return on Challenger's fifth flight but it was cancelled due to the famous explosion in 1986.
