Sexuality is a gift from God that connects us to our dignity as human beings. The Church believes that sexuality is to be present between a couple in a loving and committed marriage. This gift was given to us, probably somewhat to fortify the male/female relationship, and in Union and love. After the couples say their vows, they promise to offer their bodies to each other. Sexuality can also help the female to procreate, or to make children.

The technique Rossetti used was watercolor on paper for this particular art piece. Dante was most likely trying to focus on the human qualities in this painting, especially in the expression of love. I suspect that the style might be Romanticism
