U.S RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA

• Russia recognized the U.S in 1803, as it was forming into a sovereign nation.
• We have a long sought full and constructive relationship with Russia, things were a little rocky during the Cold War and Vietnam war when the Soviet Union was still formed, however when the Union dissolved relations between the nations has been give and take.

• Russia's military ranks 2nd in the world (USA is first)
• Over a third of their population (of 142,355,415) is in the military
• It is a requirement for Russian citizens to serve at least 4 years in the military service.

ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO RUSSIA BY U.S

• We only assist them on certain military operations, and on trade.

BILATERAL RELATIONS

• In response to Russia’s ongoing violations of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Russia’s occupation and attempted annexation of Crimea, the United States has suspended most bilateral engagement with the Russian government on economic issues

RUSSIA IN FOREIGN ORGANIZATIONS

• Russia is a member of The United Nations, Organization for Security Cooperation, ASEAN Regional Forum, and East Asia Summit.
