LANDFORMS OF RUSSIA
Russia being the largest country in total area has a diversity in landforms. In general terms,it is divided into some very specific geographical zones. The broad European plain, or Volga River Plain extends from the Ural Mountains to its western borders with Europe.

CLIMATE OF RUSSIA
In genaral, the climate of Russia can be described as highly continental influenced climate with warm to hot dry summers reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius and very cold winters with temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius and lower and sometimes heavy snowfall.

SIZE OF RUSSIA
Russia is the largest country in the world. It is 6.602 million sq miles. It accounts for 1/8 of the worlds landmass.

RELIGIOUS BELIEFS IN RUSSIA
Russia is a multi ethnic and multi faith nation. Orthodox Christianity is Russia's most popular religion with 75% of the population practicing it.

VEGETATION OF RUSSIA
The animal and plant life in Russia is extremely varied and depends greatly on climate, soil and water supply to a certain area.

Russia is near 12 bodies of water the Caspian, Baltic, White, Barents, Kara, Laptev, Chukchi, Bering, Black Sea,the North Atlantic, Norwegian , and the bay of biscay. These seas border nearly 50% of Russia.

ANCIENT RUSSIA
Ancient Russia started of as a collection of cities that gradually coalesced into an empire. In the early 19th century a group of Scandinavians called Varangians came to Eastern Europe to settle there.
