Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was born February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama.

James McCauley and Leona McCauley were Rosa Parks parents. Rosa's mom was a teacher and her dad was a carpenter.

Rosa Parks went to Highlander Folk School. She went to Alabama State Teacher College. She was a Activist.

Sylvester McCauley was Rosa's younger brother. Raymond Parks was Rosa Parks husband. They had no children.

Rosa Parks and the Bus Boycott was on December 1955.

The bus driver was telling Rosa Parks to get up out of the seat and move. Rosa Parks refused to get out of her seat.

If a white person gets on a bus they can take the African Americans seat. Rosa refused to give up her seat that the white man wanted.

Rosa Parks said "You must be fearful about what you are doing when it's right." It's means do not be scared of what you are doing is right.

Rosa Parks became famous for what she did on the bus. She did not give up her seat. That's how people got to know her.

Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech during the Bus Boycott.

When Rosa Parks died there was about 50,000 people went to view her casket.

Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Rosa was diagnosed the previous year with progressive dementia.
