CAUSES OF CONFLICT

  • In 1992, Bosnia declared independence from Yugoslavia.
  • Bosnian Serbs disapproved
  • They decided to "ethnically cleanse" the area.

BETWEEN

  • Bosnian Serbs
  • Bosnian Croats
  • Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims)

  • About 100,000 people were killed.
  • In July 1995, 8,000 Bosniaks were killed in Srebrenica.

RESULTS

  • The fighting ended in 1847.

16TH CENTURY CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANT RULERS

CAUSES OF CONFLICT

  • Churchmen criticized the administration of the church.

The separation of Christianity into two groups gave people another type of religion to see which one suited them more. The priests and popes probably made less money from indulgences after Martin Luther posted a list of 95 theses, which should have affected their lifestyles.
