The founding of Rome
Rome was said to be founded by two twins, Romulus and Remus.
The twins were abandoned and found by a wolf who fed them until they were taken in by a shepard.
Then the twins went to constuc a city were the wolf found them, Romulus killed Remus and they city was named Rome.

Roman Gods
Roman Gods were essentially the exact same as the Greeks except for changed names.
Instead of thier Greek counterpart they were named after varius planets.
Some examples are Jupiter=Zeus, Poseidon=Neptune, and Mars=Ares.

Important Roman Figures pt.1
Julus Caesar was an ancient Roman General who conquored many.
Eventually he was assinated by his enimies on March 15.
After his demise his nephew Octavion Augustus became the first official emporer and brought peace to Rome.
Octavion was made a god after his death and was worshiped by many.

Another important figure is Nero who loved acting and was blamed for the fire in Rome.
Diocletian was the only ruler to leave by will.
Constantine , the ruler ho made Christianity the official religion.
Fianlly Trajan , the first non Roman ruler.

Roman Colosseum pt.1
When it was built it was one the largest structures of it's time.
It was used as an ancient sports stadium for watching gladiators kill each other.

Roman Colosseum pt.2
The Colosseum took the effort of hundreds of workers and eight lengthy years.
There was an underground function of it and it had many cells and other rooms
It included 50,000 seats and 80 entrances for maximum viewing.

Roman Numerals
I=1,V=5,X=10,L=50,C=1000,D=50,and M=1000.
If a smaller value came before a larger one the the smaller value is subtracted from the larger one.
When the opposite happened then the smaller value was added.

They are the system of numbers that we use today.
They were created after thier Roman counterpart.

Roman Arches pt.1
The design for these arches was used on the Colosseum,bridges, and aqueducts.
This design allowed an extreme amount of weight for that time.

The arches had a keystone centered at the top of the arches to suport it.
The keystone was an essential part of thier arches and was the last stone to be put in place.

The Roman's set of laws were called the 12 tables.
They were designed to protect the rights of the citizens.

No exact copy of the laws have been found but a latin translation was recovered.
The laws are considered cruel by many but there is no denying that they havn't had an impact on our law system today.

The Latin Language
The first form of Latin came from the Italian Peninsula.
It is made up of multiple indo-european languages.
In addition there was an official form called classical Latin.

Latin influences many languages such as English and Spanish.
Latin influences can also be found in science,acadimcs, and law.
