PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

  • The major rivers of Rome are Tiber river & Arno river
  • Rome has 2 seas surrounding its land
  • Rome has mountains going through the middle of their land. (Apennine mt.)
  • The mountians protected their civilization.
  • The rivers allowed the people to get water from them.

Rome was founded on April, 21st 753 b.c. It was founded by Romolus and Remus.

Lifestyle
Art: split into two major groups, art of the republic and art of the Roman Empire. The monuments were served for the needs of people rather than artistic ability.

Gender Roles: the father had absolute control over the house. Marriage was an alliance between families not love.

Religion: believed the gods controlled their life. Spent a lot of time worshipping the gods. There were 10 different God and goddesses.

Food: only rich could afford meat, so wheat was the main food.
Breakfast: first hour or sunrise

Dinner: around the ninth hour

  • The baths of caracalla: pieces of it is up because it is very heavy
