ROMAN PLAYS

  • The romans preferred comedys while greeks like tragedys
  • Actors wore masks on their face while performing
  • Roman Plays were copied from Greeks

CHARIOT RACES

  • Held at the circus
  • Crashes were common during racing
  • Charioteers rode on chariots pulled by 2-4 horses
  • Charioteers were trampled to death by approaching horses/chariots if crashed

GLADIATOR FIGHTS

  • Violent was entertainment in Rome
  • Women sat in the back of the stadium
  • Some gladiators could be spared if fought bravely
  • Animals could also be set loose on gladiators

ROMAN BATHS

  • Place for social gatherings
  • Includes libraries, galleries, shops, gardens,ect
  • Baths heated by steam from a underground heating system
  • People didnt use soap to bath; uses oil instead
