Now, as you know, this project is about robots in Space. For my first question...
Now, for robots in space, the tech is obviously space based. But, due to space being VERY different from earth, they are very challenging to make
The high vacuum of space prevents the use of most lubricants on the robot. But there is an advantage. Space has almost no gravity. This leads to very unique designs.
However, the temperatures vary depending on if the robot is tanning in the light, or lurking in the shadows.
The robot you see here can't even SUPPORT it's own weight on earth, but it can reach around obstacles and into port holes.
Now for my second and last question...
Well, these simple, yet complex bots do a lot (if not most) of the exploring in space.
Our living piles of gears and wires here have been to not only the Moon, but Mars, Venus ect. Were placed they traveled!
In fact, there is a large debate of wether the future space missions should rely on the bots or stay with the people!
