Born September 9, 1890 in Henryville
Worked as a farmer, insurance salesman, and railroad fireman by age 10
Dropped out of the sixth grade
Sanders was responsible for feeding his younger siblings at age 6
Sander's father died at age 6

Opened his first restaurant in Kentucky at age 40 (Not KFC)
He wanted to open it to feed hungry travelers
He also opened it to continue from the depressed life he had lived
The only world-wide chicken food chain that was successful

Sanders reinvented the way chicken was cooked with the new pressure cooker
The pressure cooker cooked chicken in about 9 minutes compared
The old fashioned way to cook fried chicken took about 30 minutes
