Life before the nazi's

  • In 1919 German leaders drafted a constitution in the city of Weimar.
  • -Later known as the Weimar Republic.
  • Politically, it was weak because Germany, like France, had many small parties.
  • The government, led by moderate democratic socialists, came under constant fire from both the left and the right.

hitlers rise to power!

  • He tried to take power in 1923 but was arrested and was found guilty of treason.
  • He wrote a book called Mien Kampf (My Struggle).
  • After prison he soon renewed his table-thumping speeches.
  • When the Great Depression hit over a million people joined the Nazi party.
  • Later after the Great Depression, Hitler was elected Chancellor in 1933.

Life under Hitlers rule

  • He created the Third Reich.
  • Hitler created a system that of terror, repression, and totalitarian.
  • Formed the new secret police the Gestapo.
  • Created the new group of elite black-uniformed men called the SS.
  • Made lots of people work during the Great Depression.
  • Then had the German people burn their books because it creates ideas which Hitler thought was very dangerous.

  • They took down modern art because it was corrupted by Jewish influence.
  • They closed Catholic schools and muzzled the Catholic clergy.
  • In 1935 the Nuremberg Laws was created to serve restrictions on Jews.
  • Many German Jews, like Albert Einstein fled Germany and refuge in other countries.
  • The " Night of Broken Glass ", in 1938 on 9th and 10th of Nov. Nazi-led mobs attack all Jewish communities.
  • While that was happening during at Paris the Nazi mob shout " Revenge For Paris! Down With The Jews!".
  • Many Jews were dragged out of their homes and was beaten on the streets.
  • Later he made the Jewish people go in Concentration Camps to pay fore damages after the Nazi-mob destroyed their homes and businesses.
  • Hitler and his Henchmen had an idea called the " Final Solution " which was the idea of the Extermination Of All Jews.

vision/aspirations

  • Had German boys go to Hitler Youth so they can be strong Nazi's
  • Had an idea to exterminate all Jews and was called the " Final Solution ".
  • Had the German people say " Today Germany belong to us," said the young Nazi's and " Tomorrow the World" said the Nazi's.
