HELMET FIT
As snugly as you can comfortably wear without giving you a headache
Should sit down on your head so that it shades your eyes (not on the back of your head)
It should not rock even when you bend over and shake your head

The buckles on the sides should be up by your ears.

TALL SOCKS
ARE RECOMMENDED OVER YOUR RIDING PANTS
13.
HALF CHAPS
GIVE YOU EXTRA PROTECTION AND ARE VERY HELPFUL WHEN YOU BEGIN JUMPING
14.
SHIRT
Long or short sleeved to cover at least the tops of your arms
Long enough to tuck in and always TUCKED IN!
Shirts like polos, dress shirts "ratcatchers", or turtlenecks are best for lessons
15.
GLOVES
WEARING GLOVES CAN KEEP YOU FROM GETTING BLISTERS AND WILL HELP YOU HOLD THE REINS
16.
HAIR
LONG HAIR SHOULD BE IN A LOW PONYTAIL OR BRAID TO KEEP IN NEAT AND OUT OF YOUR FACE
17.
BELT
SHOULD BE WORN IF YOU HAVE BELT LOOPS!
18.
PLEASE SPIT YOUR GUM OUT
YOU COULD CHOKE IF YOU RIDE WITH GUM IN YOUR MOUTH:-(
19.
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR
Dangly earrings
Necklaces or bracelets that could get caught in your pony's mane
Scarves or other loose clothing that could catch on things while you
20.
WINTER BRRRRR
Wear layers of clothes in winter to keep you toasty warm
Make sure that your clothes allow you to move freely
Be sure that your gloves are not too bulky to hold the reins easily
21.
DOESN'T HURT
IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO WEAR A BODY PROTECTOR WHEN YOU RIDE- ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE JUMPING!!
22.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
ALWAYS WEAR A SMILE
