The French and Indian war

  • The war started in 1754 and ended in 1763
  • The war included George Washington and General braddock
  • The British ended up beating the french 
  • The war gave the colonists more room to expand

Proclamation of 1763

  • Britain banned settlement west of the Appalachin mountains
  • People involved were the colonists and King George
  • This could have started to colonists anger towards Britain

The stamp Act

  • Required colonists to pay a tax on every paper they used
  • Patrick Henry was an important person in the stamp act
  • This act fueled the colonists anger
  • The act was put in action in 1765

The Townshend Revenue Act

  • Taxes on glass, paint,paper, and tea were applied to the colonists
  • A significant figure was John Hancock
  • The Act started colonial Hostility
  • The act was put in action in 1767

The Boston Massacre

  • The Massacre was a fight against a mob and British soldiers
  • An important person was John Adams 
  • The massacre lead to the revolutionary war 
  • It happened in 1770

  • Raised the price on tea only for the colonies
  • The east Indian Company was a hug part of the tea act
  • The tea act launch the final spark to the revolution  
  • It started in 1773

  • The colonists tossed 324 chest of tea into the ocean
  • Thomas Hutchinson was an  important figure
  • This is significant because it was one of the first
  • major act of violence
  • It happened in 1773

Second Continental Congress 1775

  • Representatives of every colonies meet and
  • discussed important issues
  •  Some Important figures were George Washington, Ben Franklin
  • and Tomas Jefferson 
  • This is significant because it kept the revolution going 

George washington

  • George Washington was named commander in chief
  • He was named commander in chief in 1775
  • A important figure was George Washington
  • By being named commander in chief he led the way for a 
  • new country

Battle of bunker hill

  • The battle happened in June 17 1775
  • A significant figure was George Washington
  • The colonists bombarded the British form bunker hill
  • This event signalled  the British that this was now an 
  • organized uprizing
