All hunter-gatherer groups ever studied are meat eaters (including fish, insects, and other animal flesh). Some, particularly in warmer climates, get most of their calories from plant matter, but they still eat meat.
Because their needs were so small, they needed to work far less than we do today, and had more leisure time.
The hunter gatherers lived in small groups, normally about ten or twelve female adults plus children. They were regularly on the move, searching for nuts, berries and other plants, and following the wild animals which the males hunted for meat.
Each group had a large territory over which it roamed large, but only a small proportion of the plants in any given environment were suitable for people to eat.
Started in Great Britain in the early 18th century and spread throughout Europe and America by the 19th century. This was a period of significant agricultural development marked by new farming techniques and inventions that led to a massive increase in food production.
It brought about experimentation with new crops and new methods of crop rotation. These new farming techniques gave soil time to replenish nutrients leading to stronger crops and better agricultural output.
(It gives farmers access to consistent income)-
Not all farmers can say they make a good living out of producing food. With farming, you don’t get to see money each day either because the harvest takes too long on certain occasions.
(It helps manage food supply)-
Subsidies can be used by governments to ensure that a farm produces the right amount of crops or meat to serve the population.
(It damage the environment)- A lot of the complaints against agricultural subsidies is that they’re detrimental to the environment
(It involves government intervention)- Protesters of agricultural subsidies believe that governments just want to intervene in things they shouldn’t be a part of.
