  • born on or near April 23, 1564
  • Died on April 23, 1616
  • I chose him because we can't talk about literature without
  • talking about him. He did so many literature work that still read
  • by people all around the world.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

  • Shakespeare created, or published for the first time,
  • thousands of words that were new to the language
  • created hundreds of phrases and turns of speech that we still take for granted
  • some he derived from ancient sources as he translated them into the English of his time

LEONARDO DA VINCI

LEONARDO DA VINCI

  • Born on April 15, 1452
  • Died on May 2, 1519
  • I chose Leonardo Da Vinci because he did not only art work
  • but also worked in science field. Because of that, Da Vinci has been called
  • a genius and the archetypal Renaissance man. He was such a tallented man.

LEONARDO DA VINCI

  • He was concerned with the laws of science and nature,
  • which greatly informed his work as a painter, sculptor, inventor and draftsmen
  • His observations and inventions were recorded in 13,000 pages of notes and drawings
  • designs for flying machines,plant studies, war machinery, anatomy and architecture
  • His ideas were mainly theoretical explanations, laid out in exacting detail

MICHELANGELO

MICHELANGELO

  • born on March 6, 1475
  • Died on February 18, 1564
  • I chose Michelangeo as an one of the best artist in Renaissance because he is one of the few
  • artists that i can think of when i ask to my self, who pops up in my head if I think of Renaissance artist.
  • He was good at painting but also delicate sculpting. Example for that is on this slide's background.

MICHELANGELO

  • The resulting masterpiece is a transcendent example of High Renaissance art incorporating the
  • Christian symbology, prophecy and humanist principles that he had absorbed during his youth.
  • He also designed the Medici Chapel and the Laurentian Library and
  • they are considered a turning point in architectural history

FRANÇOIS RABELAIS

  • Born on November 26, 1492
  • Died on February 28, 1553
  • I chose François because there are not only things that are serious and holy,
  • But also sarcastic and humorous so I thought there is a balance in
  • Sarcasm, humor and seriousness,holiness in Renaissance.

FRANÇOIS RABELAIS

  • The four novels composing this work are outstanding for their rich use of
  • Renaissance French and for their comedy
  • His creative exuberance, colourful and wide-ranging vocabulary,
  • and literary variety continue to ensure his popularity.
  • regarded as a writer of fantasy, satire, the grotesque, and both bawdy jokes and songs.

  • Born on February 7, 1478
  • Died on July 6, 1535
  • I chose Thomas More because I finally realized how amazing he is by
  • his work 'Utopia' and other famous articles that he published.
  • I feel so sorry for him when i found out that he got executed.

THOMAS MORE

  • He was an English social philosopher, writer, and statesman.
  • Prolific writer of poetry and a Latin translation of four Greek dialogues by Lucian
  • Composed an English translation of the works of the Italian philosopher Pico della Mirandola
  • worked on the History of King Richard III and it had a great impact on Shakespeare´s Richard III
  • wrote his most extensive book, Confutation of Tyndale’s Answer, accusing Tyndale of being a heretic himself.

  • Born: May 21, 1471
  • Died: April 6, 1528
  • Works he did: altarpieces, portraits and self-portraits, engravings, and woodcuts.
  • I chose him because he is one of the most famous artist in Renaissance period
  • and he is skillful in many different field.

ALBRECHT DÜRER

  • His works proved to be what Northern Renaissance Art was all about,
  • and they were also backed up by theories, which join concepts in math,
  • idealistic proportions and perspective.
  • He completed “Adam and Eve”, an oil-on-painting, in 1507.
  • This piece of art reflects the influence of Italian art

  • Born on October 25, 1881
  • Died on April 8, 1973
  • I chose Pablo Picasso because he is one of the most popular artist in 20th century
  • and his artworks are also really philosophical and unique

PABLO PICASSO

  • His immersion in Cubism also eventually led him to the invention of collage,
  • in which he abandoned the idea of the picture as a window on objects in the
  • world,and began to conceive of it merely as an arrangement of signs that used different.
  • encouraged a new expressionism that had been suppressed throughout the years
  • of experiment in Cubism and subsequently during the early 1920s

  • Born on November 21, 1898
  • Died on August 15, 1967
  • I chose René Magritte because he is so famous for surrealism artist and surrealism
  • demand lots of imagination and it's also really hard to produce nearly one piece of art work each day
  • with high quality like his art works.

RENÉ MAGRITTE

  • He was extremely influential in the transformation of surrealism art, to the pop art movement,
  • with the work he created, and the distinct style which he took with the creations that
  • he made during the course of his career
  • forcing the viewer to take a deeper look at what was in front of them, and at what the image truly represented.
  • would also use famous paintings, which were created by other artists, to put his own surrealist twist on it
