Praise, Reward, and Recognition are all used interchangeably as they relate to students receiving feedback and or recognized for the effort they're giving.

Strengths of Praise

  • Sense of accomplishment.
  • Develops behavior that is consistent with seeking praise vs redirecting.
  • Positive Behavior.

Weaknesses of praise

  • Not consistent
  • Student won't put out maximum effort unless they feel they will be praised.
  • Comparing themselves to other students prompting to compete.
