-Notes-
The War was a 19th century feud in East Texas during the Republic of Texas years between those who wanted to "regulate" the activities of rivals and those who wanted to "moderate" the regulation.

-Notes-
A feud began between Alfred George and Joseph G. Goodbread over fake land certificates.

-Notes-
Both sides attacked each other and anyone elsewhere got in their way. (People were shot and ambushed)

-Notes-
Houston was able to get both factions to sign a peace treaty. The feuding groups signed a truce on July 24, 1844, which protected "good and unoffending citizens"
