Red Bay started as a place to go cod fishing, and turned in to a whale hunting hot spot.

Between 1520's and the 1600's whalers sent out 15 whaling ships with about 600 men a season! During this time over 20,000 whales where killed. Then all of the whales migrated to the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine

THIS TURNED FROM A PLACE OF SADNESSAND WHALE'S DEATH

TO A HISTORICAL SITE!

RED BAY HARBOR TODAY

  • Visitors come here to experience what is the largest and most complete early whaling station in the world!
  • The story of this site is now told for the whole world to see
  • I think its important to keep this historical place,
  • so more people know about the important event that happened here
  • I think we should keep this place because it is a gorgeous harbor, and then many people can experiance God's creation
