PRESENTATION OUTLINE
**Difference between renewable and non-renewable**
-non renewable resource is a natural resource that can't be remade or re-grown at a scale comparable to how much we use it
ex. solar wind, coal, petroleum, natural gases
-renewable sources that can be replenished in a short period of time
ex. solar wind, biomass, geothermal, water
Weatherstripping and caulking is a non renewable resource. Weatherstripping and caulking saves energy by not using as much heating and cooling.
Other benefits:
Weatherstripping and Caulking will save you money in the long run, make it warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer.
Disadvantages
Weatherstripping and Caulking does take up time and money.
Earth systems involved and protected:
The natural gas that gets burned while the heater is still on effects the atmosphere by producing nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxides.
It also effects the hydrosphere and the biosphere when the water that power plants use from burning the natural gas gets removed from a lake or river kills some aquatic life, effecting not only other aquatic life but people who depend on it as well.
How easy is it to do this?
It is pretty easy, just like most other home improvement projects.
Does it cost money?
Yes, but (it depends on what type of weatherstripping or caulk you're getting) it's not much, and it pays itself off. It can range from $6- $40
Are there inconveniences?
The only inconvenience is the little bit of time, money and effort it takes.
Connection?
-There is no connection between solar wind and this ecological choice because solar wind is the "continuous charge of particles from the sun that permeates the solar system." And that has nothing to do with weatherstripping and caulking.
This has nothing to do with wind power either
Proportional data:
If you can stop overheating and over cooling rooms, you can reduce the carbon dioxide amount by about 500lbs a year. That's
