I learned that Jackie
was the first african american to play for a major legue baseball team. That is important because Jackie stood up for what he wanted to do and didn't let anyone stop him from playing base ball even though he was African American.

The picture is a picture of Jackie playing baseball for the dodgers. He first played for the team Montreal Royals {a minor leage team} then he moved to play for the Brooklyn dodgers {a major league team}.

I learned that Jackie had a book written about him. That is important because it was a step into ending segregation because Jackie was African American.

I learned that after Jackie retired he went and supported the NAACP. He helped raise over one million dollars.That is important because he helped end segregation.

I learned that Jackie Robinson had kids. That is important because they supported him when he was playing baseball.They were also always there for him even when he was threatened for being an African American baseball player.

I learned that after Jackie died his family started the Jackie Robinson program. It is important because it helped young kids learn how to read.Also he helped older kids have a better education.
