Maps

Maps are fantastic in history but take ALOT of time to build. Have students fill out a Google Form (direct them there through Classroom or the Goo.Gl URL shortener) and then use the Mapping Sheets Add-On to create the map automagically.

Add On

Add-Ons are GREAT tools inside Google Drive. For history teachers, the Mapping Sheets Add-On saves tons of time. Students can each input a battle, president birth city, or even the place they were born to instantly create a class map.

SmartyPins

SmartyPins is an addictive Geography based game using Google Maps. The game provides you the clues and you have to quickly ascertain the place that it is referencing.

Timeline JS

Timelines are another phenomenal resource for the history class. They too take a lot of time to build. https://timeline.knightlab.com/ Makes it very simple. Follow the step by step directions and in no time teachers or students can create a sleek timeline. Combine with a Google form to make it even faster to collect and create.

Tour Builder

Google Tour Builder works with Google Earth to create a tour complete with videos and photos to use in the classroom setting. Add many forms of media and be sure to add the text about it as well.
