"RAPHAEL PAINTED LIFE. HE WAS THOUGHT TO BE ONE OF THE MOST DETAILED PAINTERS OF ALL PORTRAITISTS. HE ALSO CHANGED THE WAY PEOPLE THOUGHT OF THE HOLY MADONNA. HE PAINTED EMOTIONAL THEMES. RAPHAEL CHANGED THE ART WORLD"(Melanie).

He created countless Holy Madonnas mainly during his years in Florence.
He made them realistic and heartfelt so that when people saw them they didn't just see her face they saw her loving looks toward her Son or a peaceful heavenly look.
This helped people picture her as a real person and someone who had feelings and personality.
They have also all transcended time and are still looked at today.
They have influenced other paintings of Her and been a source of learning for those trying to draw Her.

"Baroque Art developed in Europe around 1600, as a reaction against the intricate and formulaic Mannerism that dominated the Late Renaissance. Baroque art is less complex, more realistic and more emotionally affecting than Manicurist art"(Baroque).

w/o Santi's perfect art the art world would not have rebelled and therefore the entire baroque period of art would not have existed as it does.

Painting called 'Maids of Honor' by Velasquez during the Baroque period of art.

"Following his death, Raphael's movement toward Mannerism influenced painting styles in Italy’s advancing Baroque period"(Raphael).

This would cause a chain reaction of all the rest of art which wouldn't have happened without baroque art. He influenced a rebellion against himself with his art.

In short, Rafael Santi influenced history either when trying, as with his Madonna's or as a reaction to his artwork when artists rebelled against the idea of his perfect paintings. Today he is considered one of the greatest artists to have ever lived and is greatly respected for his harmonious works of 'picture perfect' art.
