What is a rainbow?
an arch of colors formed in the sky in certain circumstances, caused by the refraction and dispersion of the sun's light by rain or other water droplets in the atmosphere.

Rainbow symbolism Biblical: A symbol of "Devine and Patience":
And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. Rabbinic Judaism learns from this portion of the Bible that rainbows are a symbol of divine anger and patience.

Rainbow symbolism Buddhism: Symbolism of color is frequently used throughout the Buddhist tradition. “Those who have surpassed their earthly ties are in a position to achieve the highest meditative state, and experience the rainbow body.”

The differences.

  • In Buddhism: they believe that as humans we have an earthly, mortal body, but there are many religions that believe that we build up other heretic bodies as well, through correct practice and meditation, among other things.
  • In Biblical: According to Genesis, after Noah's flood God put the rainbow in the sky as the sign of His promise that He would never again destroy the earth with flood (Genesis 9:13–17): I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

  • both has a spiratual meaning
  • both has an impact with the body, mind, and heart
