PRESENTATION OUTLINE
BENEFITS OF NUCLEAR POWER
- world's largest source of emission-free energy.
- Reliable source of energy
- More powerful and efficient than other sources of energy
- The cost is cheap for uranium
- Production of nuclear energy needs very less amount of raw material.
HARMS OF NUCLER POWER
- Radioactive waste
- Nuclear waste
- Radiation
- Major Impact on Human Life
- Non Renewable
Nuclear fusion:
is a nuclear reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei collide at a very high speed and join to form a new type of atomic nucleus.
Nuclear fission:
is either a nuclear reaction or a radioactive decay process in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts (lighter nuclei). The fission process often produces free neutrons and photons (in the form of gamma rays), and releases a very large amount of energy even by the energetic standards of radioactive decay.
typical nuclear plant generates approximately $470 million in sales of goods and services in the local community and nearly $40 million in total labor income. These figures include both direct and secondary effects. The direct effects reflect the plant’s expenditures for goods, services, labor and profit—approximately $453 million.
A nuclear meltdown is an informal term for a severe nuclear reactor accident that results in core damage from overheating. Chernobyl was a nuclear power plant that had a meltdown.
