Question One - Conventions of a psychological thriller

Psychological Thriller is known as
a fictional thriller story that emphasizes the psychology from its characters and their unstable emotional states (e.g. the male actor in our film loosing his wide). In terms of classification, the category is a sub-genre of the broader ranging thriller category.

Psychological Thrillers

• Will usually include a lot of relation to horrors
• An example that we found suitably related in the film Se7en
• Used with the main character, it exagerates the genre
• That being a psychological thriller
• It's related to horrors as it plays with the character's minds

Relating this to our film

• Our film is strongly related to Se7en
• This is due to the effect it has on the audience
• Making it 'mind bending' and a mystery to them
• Our film isn't much related to psychological thriller in the opening
• It would be if the film got developed as the storyline is a mystery

It's all about what's going on in the character's mind more than anything else, the producer will try to trick out the audience in many parts of their film in order to shock them and/or make them remember that part. It plays with the character's feelings and thoughts. This is a good method is order to get the audience to favour one character over another.

Progressing our film

• We had many plans for our film, such as:
• Making the main character play with the suspected killers
• Tricking the suspects who he though to kill his wife
• Leave imprints on their houses, changing their state of minds
• Also letting them think they're loosing it. Just to exagerate that effect
