  • Pterodactyl was in the Pterosaur family.
  • It's name comes from a Greek word meaning the "wing lizard".
  • The Pterodactyl lived between 150 million and 70 million years ago.
  • It was found in Bavaria,Germany.
  • The layer of rock it's fossils were found in is limestone.

  • It has a long wing span of about 30 feet long which made them flew long distances.
  • They had wonderful eyesight to help them catch prey.
  • They were carnivores.
  • They died out because a giant meter hit the earth.
  • This fossil is interesting because the male fossils have a big crest on the back of their head they used for fighting.
