First of all, Faraj doesn't like Israel because he thinks that they took his land. (Palestine's) He goes on and on how he never wants to be friends with a Jew, let alone meet one. But then BZ convinces and influences Faraj that it might be a good idea to. So Faraj does and ends up having a good time with Yarko and Daniel, and ends up becoming friends with them.

Moishe is an Orthodox Jew who lives in Israel. He despises Arabs and thinks they are nothing but a bunch of mean people. He doesn't want to meet an Arab ever.

Shlomo is an Orthodox Jew who lives in Israel. He doesn't really like Arabs, but he manages to stand them. Shlomo would not want to have a friendship with an Arab.

Daniel is a secular Jew who lives in Israel. He doesn't hate Arabs, and manages to build friendships with them. He is non religious and just wants to be happy.

Yarko is a secular Jew who lives in Israel. He is twin brothers with Daniel. Yarko does not hate Arabs either. He also manages to build a friendship with Arabs.

Sanabel is a Palestinian girl that expresses her beliefs in her religion by dancing. She is open to meeting Jewish people. Her dad is in jail for expressing his beliefs for their religion.

Mahmoud hates Jews. He thinks they are worthless. If he could, he would kill every single Jew that lives in Israel. He doesn't ever want to meet a Jew nor ever be friends with one.

There was a lot of generalizing done in the movie promises. For example, Mahmoud said every single Jew was bad and that he wanted to kill every single one. He said that because he thought everyone was part of the Jews taking over their land. But most of Jews had no control of them taking over "Palestine's" land, and they don't deserve to be blamed for it. That is why I think there was a lot of generalizing done in the movie Promises.

The most noticeable time when someone takes a risk in the movie Promises is when Yarko and Daniel go into the refugee camps and meet some Palestinian kids. This is a risk because Yarko and Daniel have never been able to meet an Arab by choice, and, as you may know, Arabs and Jews don't normally get along.

Finally, there was some people that we're thinking with an open mind in the movie promises. For example, Faraj doesn't want to meet Jewish kids at first, but then expands his thoughts and eventually gives in. That is an example of someone thinking with an open mind in the movie promises.
