PRESENTATION OUTLINE

PROKARYOTIC AND EUKARYOTIC CELLS

PROKARYOTIC CELLS

  • Bacteria are examples of the prokaryotic cell type
  • Prokaryotic is Greek for "before nucleus"
  • Prokaryotic cells don't have a membrane-bound nucleus
  • Another example of prokaryotic cells is e.coli

EUKARYOTIC

  • The endomembrane system in a eurokaryotic cell is a system
  • of membranes that exchange materials
  • Both cystol and ribosomes make up the cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells.

HOW BOTH CELLS ARE ALIKE

  • There cell membranes
  • Both have cytoplasm
  • Both have genetic material
  • Both consume energy
