Projection

  • "Projection is a defense mechanism in which people attribute their unacceptable or unwanted feelings and thoughts to the very person that their feelings and thoughts are targeted at." (Inoue, 2012)

Sublimation

  • "Sublimation is a defense mechanism in which people the collapse of intense psychodynamic conflict by discharging internal impulses and psychological energy using socially acceptable means." (Inoue, 2012)

  • When students use their anger and fear in a sports.

Solution within the classroom

  • Educator can help support students’ learning and psychological life by providing a safe and encouraging environment at school.
  • Educators can control students' life outside of school but they can control what happens inside the classroom.
