  • He was a franciscan friar.
  • He was a priest during world war 2

DURING WORLD WAR 2

  • He stayed at the monestary and created a hospital.
  • Subjected to punishment because he remained as a priest
  • even after the nazis told him not to.

DURING THE HOLOCAUST

  • The germans picked 10 people to starve to death.
  • Kolbe volunteered to take the place of one of the victims.
  • He was starved, however through prayer he was able to
  • Survive for 2 weeks without food.
  • The nazis were impatient and killed him with lethal injection.
