On December 5th, 1933 the 21st Amendment was ratified and Prohibition ended. This day is known as Repeal Day.
In order to enforce the 18th Amendment, the National Prohibition Act, more commonly known as Volstead Act was passed.
The date of the Prohibition Era years in the United States was from 1920 to 1933.
Some states refused to enforce Prohibition.
Drug stores continued selling alcohol as “medicine.”

It was never illegal to drink during Prohibition.
The Ku Klux Klan strongly supported Prohibition.
. Al Capone is estimated to have made $60 million in alcohol sales in just 1927 alone.
It continues in some parts of the country to this day.
