  • On December 5th, 1933 the 21st Amendment was ratified and Prohibition ended. This day is known as Repeal Day.
  • In order to enforce the 18th Amendment, the National Prohibition Act, more commonly known as Volstead Act was passed.
  • The date of the Prohibition Era years in the United States was from 1920 to 1933.
  • Some states refused to enforce Prohibition.
  • Drug stores continued selling alcohol as “medicine.”
